Kickstand

Privacy Policy

Effective August 7, 2026. Kickstand helps a recreational sports team organize itself: who is coming to the game, who is playing where, and who has earned what. This page says plainly what it holds and who can see it.

What it holds

Your name, and whatever else you or your captain adds: a mobile number, an email address, a photo, a nickname, pronouns, a favorite position, a short hype line, and a note about your availability. It also holds your answers to games, whether you played, umped, helped set up, or brought snacks, the points those earn, anything you post in team chat, and if your captain records them, game scores.

Who can see it

Your captain and any co-captains see everything about their own team, including contact details. Teammates see your name, photo, level, and points. They only see your pronouns, position, and hype line if they have signed in. They only see your phone number or email if you switch on sharing yourself, and even then only when signed in. Someone who merely holds the team link, without signing in, sees names, faces, and who is coming. Your captain's own contact details are shown to everyone on the team, because they are the person to chase about a game.

Signing in

Signing in is optional and never required to answer a game. You can sign in with Google, or with a one time code sent to your phone or email. If you use Google we receive your email address and nothing else, and we use it only to match you to your roster entry. Sign in stores a cookie that identifies you to this app. It is not used for advertising or tracking, and there are no third party trackers or analytics in this app at all.

Texts and notifications

If your number is on file you may get reminders about games, and a message when a time is set or changes. Message frequency varies, about 1 to 4 texts a week during the season. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any of them and the texts stop for good, or reply HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, excluding the carriers and Twilio, our messaging provider, solely to deliver the messages. If you turn on phone notifications, your browser gives us an anonymous address for that one device so we can send them; turn them off any time from the same button.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase and the app runs on Vercel, both in the United States. Texts go through Twilio, email through Google, and forecasts come from Open-Meteo, which receives only the coordinates of the field and never anything about you. Your captain can download a full backup of the team at any time.

Getting rid of it

Ask your captain to remove you and they can, from their dashboard. Deleted people sit in a recycle bin briefly so mistakes can be undone, then they are gone for good. You can clear your own photo, number, and email yourself at any time from your page. To have everything about you removed, email the address below and say so.

Children

This is built for adult recreational leagues and is not directed at children under 13.
